Watch a 500-horsepower Tractor Set A Lap Record at the Nurburgring

Car enthusiasts have been fascinated by lap records since the early days of racing. The Nurburgring madness started in the 1970s with Formula One and Group C race cars and extends to road cars in the 1990s. 30 years later and it’s common to see automakers test production models at the ’Ring. And it’s not just sports cars. They are testing family sedans and SUVs as well and sometimes use them to set new records around the German track. If you think that a lap record contest for SUVs is a bit ridiculous, you’d better buckle up. Someone just drove an agricultural tractor around the Nurburgring Nordschleife.
